A Member, not being an ex-officio Member, shall hold office during the pleasure of the Government.

If the Court is satisfied that the child brought before it,

is a destitute and neglected child and that it is expedient to deal with him, the Court may order that he be admitted to a child protection institution or his custody be entrusted to a suitable person,

who is able and willing to look after the child, until such child attains the age of eighteen years,

or in exceptional cases for a shorter period.

“37. Intoxicating a child.– If a person gives or causes to be given to any child any intoxicant or narcotic drug,

except on the prescription of a doctor, he shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years but which shall not be less than six months and

with fine which may extend to three hundred thousand rupees but which

shall not be less than fifty thousand rupees.”
